It was an excellent experience. We visited the cities of Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin in Texas; and New Orleans, Lafayette and Baton Rouge in Louisiana Estate.
We made tastings in liquor stores, restaurants and bars. People were really interested in Argentinean and Chilean wines.
I travelled with Christian Wylie, (commercial director of Santa Carolina); Gonzalo Bertelsen, (chief winemaker & General Manager of Finca el Origen) and Barbara Lewin, (Marketing Manager of Santa Carolina).
We had the pleasure to met the people of HEB. Gonzalo and Christian made a presentation and tasting of our wines. The meeting was made in the restaurant “Tango Malbec” (www.tangomalbec.com), located in Houston. You can see some pictures of this event bellow. Our Chief winemaker Gonzalo Bertelsen signed a lot of Gran Reserve Malbec bottles.
During our visit in San Antonio, we assisted to another meeting; This time Gonzalo made the tasting of Finca el Origen wines. Mark Bishop (of The SpiriVin Group) made a prize draw for a 5 Liters bottle of "Santa Carolina Reserve de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon”. See the pictures!
We made another Tasting in one of the HEB stores of Austin. A lot of people tasted our Finca el Origen Gran Reserve Malbec of Uco Valley, and Finca el Origen Reserve Torrontés of Cafayate Valley.
On the other hand, Ignacio Ciancio, Export Manager for America, travelled to the US on October. He visited New York and New Jersey with Jimena Balic, Chilean winemaker who is leading the ‘Feel Green Campaign’ within Santa Carolina.
I would like to thank all the people who joined and worked with us! I am glad to be part of this big team and I hope that we can sell more wines!!!
