2009 was a year with excellent climatic conditions, lack of rain, healthy fruit and mild temperatures. These Malbec grapes are from the high end of the valley and were hand-harvested during the third and fourth week of April. At this point of time, they showed a profound color, round and sweet tannins, great concentration of flavors and complex aromas. After one year of tank and barrel ageing, the wine was ready for release.
The 2009 Reserva Malbec has fifteen percent Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. Its color is intensely violet, with red fruit aromas and floral hints. On the palate, its texture is smooth with velvety sweet tannins. The wine is both concentrated and elegant which will improve with bottle ageing. This is a wine which has been recommended by the international media in earlier vintages (Best Buy by Wine & Spirits, Wine Enthusiast, Recommended by Decanter).
