Argentina Wine Awards 2012
The Argentinean winery, which belongs to Viña Santa Carolina, Chile; was honored for its wines at the 6thconsecutive Edition of the Argentina Wine Awards, the Argentine competition for export wines, which took place from 20th to 24th , February in Mendoza City. The wines “Finca el Origen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon and Reserva Torrontés obtained Gold medals, also the wine Gran Reserva Malbec achieved silver medal and the Reserva Malbec received Bronze medal.
Mendoza, March 06th, 2012 – Finca El Origen (www.fincaelorigen.com), the Premium wine producer was awarded Gold, Silver and bronze medals for four of its wines in the prestigious contest, Argentina Wine Awards, held in Mendoza for the 6th running year, from 20th to 24th, February. At the end of February, AWA 2010, the fourth Edition of the country’s most important wine contest, organized by Wines of Argentina, with the collaboration of COVIAR, brought, for the first time, 12 international judges -all of them top winemakers- assessed Argentine wines,The 12 Masters of Wine were: Michael Silacci (USA), Joey Tensley (USA), Gilles Paquet (France), Marlene Soria (France), Alastair Maling (New Zealand), Barbara Tamburini (Italy), Graziana Grassini (Italy), Vittorio Fiore (Italy), Anthony Hamilton Russell (South Africa), Andrea Mullinex (South Africa), Marcelo Retamal (Chile) and Robert Pepi (USA).This year 734 wine samples were submitted to the contest. Of these samples, the jury awarded the wines Finca el Origen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 and Finca el Origen Reserva Torrontés 2011 with gold medal, the wine Gran Reserva Malbec 2010 with Silver Medal and Reserva Malbec 2010 with Bronze medal, also Finca el Origen.
